Director of Information Technology

Curt Suttman

Curt resides in Freeport with his wife and two young children. He has been employed with the City for since 2011 and was promoted to Director of Information Technology in 2017. Curt previously was the City GIS specialist.

Curt’s goal is to improve the efficiency, security, and reliability of all City systems, while always focusing on citizen engagement.

Curt suggests that students who are interested in Information Technology should be interested in technology, business process improvements, and also be detail oriented. He adds that certifications are great to get your foot in the door, though experience and formal education are the best ways to advance in the industry.
