Local Flooding Information

Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) opened Stephenson St./Route 75 to through traffic as of 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019. See the Road and Sewer Conditions link below for streets that remain closed and/or water covered. Residents are allowed to return to their homes.

REGULAR TRASH HAULING – Garbage service east of the Pecatonica River will resume Monday, March 25, 2019.

VOTING 4/2/19 – St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church, 607 E. Stephenson St., will remain a voting location at the General Election on April 2, 2019.

RIVER LEVEL – The Pecatonica River was at 14.4 feet at 6:30 PM on March 22, 2019. It crested at 17.26 feet on March 18, 2019, and continues to fall. This is the highest the Pecatonica River has been since 1933. It is projected to drop below flood level (13.0 feet) on March 25, 2019.

EVACUATIONS – City crews from Fire, Police, Public Works as well as the Housing Authority completed 174 evacuations over the weekend of March 16-17, 2019. The Red Cross established a temporary shelter which has been relocated to Embury Church.
