James states, “As a member of the City Council my goals are to strengthen our community through improved infrastructure such as roads, water improvements, sewer improvements, and removing blighted buildings from our great city. I’ll work hard to bring technology-based jobs to Freeport. I will lead an effort to diversify Northwest Illinois’ economy and create a new breed of high-tech, high-wage careers for residents in cutting edge industries such as digital media, sciences, and training.
“Safety and security are at the top of my agenda as Alderman. It is vital every member of our community feels safe and secure! I will ensure our law enforcement partners have the staffing, tools and training to effectively protect our citizens.
“Finally, we need to bring city, county, and regional leaders together to achieve our goals. We must work together to fix our economy and improve our workforce. I will fight to increase cooperation and partnerships between our many governments, its business and civic communities, and residents.
“Thank you for entrusting me in this role as Alderman, 2nd Ward!”
