Façade Improvement Grant Program Application Packet

The Façade Improvement Program is designed to provide building owners with financial incentives to preserve, restore, and rehabilitate the exterior features of buildings located within the Downtown Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District area and Downtown Historic District. The reimbursable grants are provided in recognition of the positive impact that individual facade rehabilitations can have on the overall appearance and quality of storefronts.

The City has proposed a budget of $20,000 for 2022, funded by the Downtown TIF.  The funds will be payable as a reimbursement of up to 50% of the project costs, which cannot exceed $15,000 total.

Applications will be accepted through April 12, 2022. For more information, please contact the  Community and Economic Development Department at 815-235-8202.

A Façade Improvement Program Workshop will be held on March 16, 2022 at 7:30 AM.   The following are available from that workshop:
PowerPoint Presentation
– Video Recording (available after the workshop)
