Communications & Media Relations
The Communications Department is responsible for communicating information from City Hall to the citizens of Freeport, as well as facilitating media relations between reporters, elected officials, or other City departments. Additionally, the department assists with the implementation of marketing and outreach initiatives aimed at fostering civic pride, promoting positive experiences in Freeport, and increasing community engagement.

Many public documents are available on the City of Freeport’s website. Those who are unable to find the information they need on the City’s website are asked to submit a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. For more information on FOIA requests, please contact the City Clerk at 815.235.8203.
