The Freeport Fire Department offers a wide variety of public education programs for businesses and industry, as well as educational programs tailored to specific groups.

Blood Pressure Check Program

The City of Freeport Fire Department checks the blood pressure of area residents for free on a scheduled rotating basis. Call the Fire Department Administrative offices at 235-8217 to find out when the Fire Station nearest you will be performing blood pressure checks in your neck of the woods.

Smoke Detector Program

Does your home have smoke detectors? Or, do you have difficulty checking or replacing the batteries in your existing smoke detectors? Call the Fire Department Administrative offices at 235-8217 to set up an appointment for Fire Personnel to come to your home and install smoke detectors or replace batteries. Smoke detectors may seem too small of an issue to worry about, but they save lives.

Fire Investigation

The Freeport Fire Department has three state certified arson investigators. These personnel are available 24 hours/day 7 days to investigate the cause and origin of fires. They also assist other departments in Stephenson County with fire investigations.
