Wayne Duckmann

Director of Community and Economic Development

Wayne Duckmann joined the City of Freeport as the City’s Community and Economic Development Director in January 2022. Duckmann has 9 years of experience in the public sector, most recently as a Senior Planner for McHenry County. He also has 10 years of experience in the private sector fields of construction management and land surveying. Duckmann is an Illinois licensed professional land surveyor and is an active member of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association. In 2022, Duckmann graduated with a Master of Public Administration Degree from Northern Illinois University.

The Community and Economic Development Director is responsible for programs and initiatives related to the community’s economic vitality, neighborhood diversity and stability, preservation of historical landmarks, and the enhancements of community programs. This position is essential to bettering the quality of life for those who visit, live in, and work in the City of Freeport. He is excited to serve the people of Freeport by building upon the rich history of the community.
