Electronic Recycling Event at Stephenson County Fairgrounds July 19

FREEPORT, IL – THIS EVENT IS NOW COMPLETE.

The City of Freeport is hosting an electronic recycling event on July 19, 2025 at the Stephenson County Fairgrounds from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Freeport residents can bring up to three items with monitors. This includes, TV’s, laptops, computer screens, and smartphones. Other accepted items without a limit include keyboards, computer towers, speakers, printers, and fax/copy machines.

Appliances will not be accepted.

At this time, this event is only for Freeport residents. Attendees will be required to present a Freeport ID before dropping off their items. This event is another step toward ensuring the community is free of illegal dumping. We appreciate all who participate and further aid in that mission.

ALL vehicles will enter through the northern entrance on Walnut Road. Vehicles may only enter as they are driving South. Meaning any vehicles attempting to turn left into the gate will be asked to reroute. THIS IS ESSENTIAL TO KEEP FLOW OF TRAFFIC ON WALNUT ROAD. Please pay attention to signs within the Fairgrounds to direct you to the dumping location. IN THE EVENT THAT THE TRAILERS FILL UP BEFORE THE CLOSING OF THE GATE, THE EVENT WILL BE WRAPPED UP EARLY. Therefore, it’s first come – first serve.
