Tire Recycling Event on August 23 at Stephenson County Fairgrounds

FREEPORT, IL – The City of Freeport, in partnership with the Stephenson County Fairgrounds and Gill’s Freeport Disposal, will hold a tire recycling event on August 23, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Freeport residents may bring tires to the County Fairgrounds free of charge during this event.

While there is no limit to how many passenger car tires a resident can bring, there are other limitations. Residents may bring up to four semi-truck tires. No other tires will be accepted.

As with other events, attendees will be required to present a Freeport ID before dropping off their items. This event is another step toward ensuring the community is free of illegal dumping. We appreciate all who participate and further aid in that mission.
