July 7 BOIL ORDER information
FREEPORT, IL – On July 7, City crews began work to replace water infrastructure near the Carroll Water Tower. The repair will continue tomorrow and is expected to be completed at that time. The current boil order remains in effect for the following areas until further notice:
- Carroll Avenue from Pershing Street to South Street.
- Wayne Street from Chicago Avenue to Carroll Avenue.
- E. Roosevelt Street from Chicago Avenue to Carroll Avenue.
If you do not live within these limits, you are NOT currently under a boil order.
If it becomes necessary, the boil order area may need to be expanded tomorrow to safely complete the repair. If that becomes necessary, we will notify affected residents as soon as possible. Once the repair is complete and water service has been restored, the required water quality testing will begin.
Boil orders are expected to last 24 to 48 hours after water service is restored. Thank you for your understanding.
