Police Chief Shenberger Announces Retirement

FREEPORT, IL – Freeport Police Chief Chris Shenberger has announced that he intends on retiring after 27 years of service. Chief Shenberger would like to thank City Manager Boyer, Mayor Jodi Miller, and the seated City Council for their support during his tenure as the Chief of Police. Chief Shenberger is especially proud of the civilian/sworn-in men and women who serve the citizens of Freeport. Chief Shenberger’s last day will be October 24, 2025.
