Road and Water Infrastructure Work to Begin on Carroll Avenue the Week of June 16
FREEPORT, IL — Beginning the week of June 16, crews will close Carroll Avenue, from Galena to Empire, to through traffic. This work includes a variety of updates on water mains and sewer as well as a complete repaving of the street.
The project will begin on this section of Carroll and will move to the NORTH END before the entire street is closed for final paving. Each section will take four weeks each before final paving begins.
At the end of the day, construction areas will be reopened. During construction, residents in these areas are able to pull in and out of driveways but may experience delays maneuvering the area. Road closed signs give crews the proper space and safety to work. Ignoring them could result in injury, project malfunction and more. The City asks that you pay attention to road closed signs and obey them with the utmost caution.
