Approximately every 50 years, the City has the opportunity to re-enter/renew their enterprise agreement with the Northern Illinois Gas Company to construct, operate, and maintain a gas distributing system. City staff negotiated a similar contract with the difference being around $20,000 in savings for the Freeport Public Library who will now receive free therms from Nicor.
