Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program Applications Now Open

The Façade Improvement Program is designed to provide building owners with financial incentives to preserve, restore, and rehabilitate the exterior features of buildings located within the Downtown Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District area. The reimbursable grants are provided in recognition of the positive impact that individual façade rehabilitations can have on the overall appearance and quality of storefronts.

The City has proposed a budget of $30,000 for 2026 with a maximum award of $15,000 for a single project, funded by the Downtown TIF.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, April 10, 2026, at 5:00 pm. For more information, please contact the Community and Economic Development Director at 815-235-8221.

A Façade Improvement Program Workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 7:30 AM.
