Pearl City Road Renovation to Begin April 15

FREEPORT, IL —Helm Group contractors will begin resurfacing and reconstructing a section of Pearl City Road Monday, April 15, to improve the appearance and safety of the area.

Drivers can expect closures on Pearl City Road between Kiwanis Drive and Park Boulevard. This closure will last approximately 60 to 90 days.

Fehr Graham Project Manager and City of Freeport Public Works Director Darin Stykel said, “Our team is looking forward to this project that we have been planning for some time. We know that the $1.2 million we are putting into this road will not only make it safer to drive on but will also improve the overall appearance of the area.”

Detours have been posted directing traffic toward West Stephenson Street. The City of Freeport appreciates your patience and understanding as driving conditions are improved across the city.
