Troy Barr Appointed Alderman-at-Large

TROY BARR APPOINTED AS ALDERMAN-AT-LARGE

On the September 6th Council Meeting, members of the Freeport City Council approved the appointment of Troy Barr to the position of Alderman-at-Large. The position was vacated after the resignation of former Alderman Jim Berberet. After the approval, Barr was then sworn in as Alderman.

As a longstanding member of the Freeport community, Troy Barr has formerly served on the Planning Commission since 2018 and has served as a sports coach for local Jr. High and High School teams for 19 years. Barr is also a partner in a small local business since 2017.

“I am truly honored to serve the Freeport community as Alderman-at-Large,” said Barr.

Alderman Barr will serve in the position of Alderman-at-Large until the term expires in May 2023.
